The four Hardee’s in Omaha, NE sold “Little Red Stockings” December 1 – 22 with the money going to the Nebraska Children’s Home Society. Around the turn of the 20th century, many home societies across the country began using a red stocking as a symbol of need and giving during the holiday season. Children would make little red paper stockings and collect pennies to help the orphans. The tradition continues today with NCHS. travel destinations Hardee’s helped raise $1,172 by asking guests if they would like to donate $1. In exchange they signed a paper “Little Red Stocking” and received a sheet of Hardee’s coupons.
