The OVERRUN 5K Run/Walk Triumph with Corner Bakery Cafe
March 26, 2024Corner Bakery Café was at the finish line providing coffee and muffin bites to all the OVERRUN Ovarian Cancer 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk participants. Thanks to a crowd of over 1,000 participants, they were able to give $75,000 to support the work and research on ovarian cancer early detection testing and new drug therapies.
Winterset Hardee’s Held a Fundraiser for the Barcus Family
March 18, 2024In January the Winterset Hardee’s held a fundraiser for the Barcus family. Weston was diagnosed with Ocular Melanoma and had to have his left eye and the tumor removed. He and his family were presented a check for $1,429.31 to help with medical expenses. We continue to keep the Barcus family in our thoughts.
Sweet Spooks: A Recap of Last Year’s Corner Bakery Cafe Trunk or Treat Event
October 22, 2023Corner Bakery Café Trunk or Treat October 21, 2023 the Ovelrand Park Police Department put on a Trunk or Treat for approximately 1,200 kids. Corner Bakery Café staff decorated the catering van and turned it into the a haunted bakery where kids received a free cookie as well as a certificate good for a free cookie at the cafe. Corner Bakery Café won 2nd place in decorating. Great job team!

May 22, 2023Corner Bakery Café was once again happy to support the annual MGA Triple Crown Showdown a 5K in Leawood, KS. It was held May 21, 2023 and the 410 participants were treated to coffee and muffin bites.Thanks to everyone involved, they were able to give $60,000 to support the work and research with Myasthenia Gravis.
Omaha NCHS Check Presentation
March 13, 2023President Frank Westermajer and Regional Director of Operations, Stacy Holtz presented Nebraska Children’s Home Society (NCHS) with a check for $11,086.41 on March 14, 2023. With this latest donation, Westar Foods has donated over $105,700 to NCHS since the Fall of 2012. Each Winter the Hardee’s in the Omaha DMA ask guests if they would like to donate and they always step up. NCHS puts “children first” through three core services, adoption, foster care and family support.
Hardee’s goes west with N. Platte location, opening today
October 19, 2018Biscuits and gravy for breakfast? Hamburgers for lunch or dinner? How about hand-breaded chicken strips? Hardee’s will host its ribbon cutting at 10:30 a.m. today at 102 Holiday Frontage Road. The first 25 customers will receive a gift certificate for a free biscuit each week for the restaurant’s first year. The restaurant also plans to hire about 10 more employees in the coming weeks, to have a team of about 30. Happy Star’s Happy Place
June 10, 2018Happy Star is such a ham and loves to be the center of attention. He recently attended a Birthday Bash for the Omaha Storm Chaser’s mascot, Casey. The Omaha Storm Chasers invited all of their sponsor’s mascots to the party, as well as game attendees. While Happy Star loves events like this, he loves hugs from kids even more. After the game, all kids running the bases received a card to redeem 3-piece chicken tenders from Happy Star!
